The Race to End Summer is On.
It’s Labor Day Weekend and here we are, sitting at a table generously provided by Beach Magazine at the side of the Grand Prix ring of the Hampton Classic in Bridgehampton. Highways are filling up, no doubt, and I’ve been told that the only outbound Jitney seats available are on the 5:00 AM.
Summer in East Hampton was a flash of White Linen.
“I made a dash through the hot summer rain, my white linen pants sticking to my legs, as the frantic sound of Docksiders smacking the pavement kept the time… Summer was over.”
‘Have Mercy.’ Peach and Strawberry Summer Pancakes.
These pancakes are so good they’ll make you experience an Uncle Jesse swoon. It’s a summer brunch ‘wow’ that will make you very popular, perfect for when you have houseguests at the beach or even if you just feel like a little ‘staycation’ that rivals any brunch you can have out and about.
Two Simple Iced Tea Recipes To Bring Back Summer
So, I am out in the Hamptons in the ‘pre-season’ and every time I see light coming through the glass of my kitchen (or office) windows, my mind goes immediately to one thing… my pulse quickens and I feel my mouth get dry, and all I want to do is DRINK. ICED. TEA.

The fabulous Rizzoli bookstore on West 57th Street in New York is being forced to vacate after 29 years in its location. The building, which was former home of the Sohmer Piano Company, features dramatic vaulted ceilings and statues of cherubs playing harps. Unfortunately, it was denied historic status and will be demolished and replaced with a luxury highrise.
Rizzoli is the publisher of countless excellent books on architecture, design, homes and preservation – a strange and sad fact considering how meaningfully this space echoes the publisher’s sensibility. Of course, their most recent release promises that they will choose one of several “promising” options for a new flagship store in Manhattan. If you want to get a chance to buy some great books in this soon to be forgotten great space, get there fast! If not, check out these great photos of the store as we’ll remember it.
